BSNL suffer damages because of PWD developmental works
ITANAGAR, June 16: BSNL has lodged a complaint against the PWD contractors for destroying underground cables and pillars at Chimpu and O point in Itanagar. In an FIR lodged at Itanagar Police station today, it informed that PWD contractors while carrying out road expansion, repairing and drainage construction works in capital complex have inflicted major destructions near Kendra Vidyalaya, Chimpu and in front of Hotel Arun Subansiri near ‘0’ Point Tinali.

SUMA says no to autonomous councils

any move tooth and nail for creation of Mon and Patkai Autonomous Districts Councils

recent meeting with Union minister of state for home regarding speedy creation of
Mon and Patkai Autonomous District Councils and the possible consequences of the
autonomous councils in the state, the SUMA yesterday said “we should not forget
that there are especially created separate departments for these regions such as
department of Tirap and Changlang affairs, Department of Karmik and Adhyatmik (Chos-

Questioning the effectiveness of such Councils, SUMA, citing the example of ADCs in neighbouring states like North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council and Bodo Territorial Council (BTC) said that overall performance of such councils are much below the target set by the Govt of India.
SUMA vice president (admin) Kaling Moyong opined that demand for autonomous district council is a serious issue which may pave the way for other community to demand the same. “Who knows tomorrow demand for Siang Autonomous council may also come up,” he said. Moyong further claimed that during February last Pema Khandu had assured to hold a discussion on ADC demand later in ‘proper time,’ but he replied came in other way ( meeting the Union minister on autonomous demand !)
In his remarks, SUMA Finance secretary Tasar Charu said “the creation of ADC’s is a serious threat for the people of Arunachal who have been living peacefully, maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood since time immemorial.” He requested the minister to take more interest in tourism industries and successful implementation of BADP schemes in Mon and Patkai region instead of pursuing the ADC demand.
Pointing out the security point of view in the proposed ADC region, particularly in border area with neighbouring country, SUMA said “we will not let cut and divide our state into fractions in the name of community and region, we visualize a peaceful land, full of development in the road map of Pan Arunachal.”

Workshop on the Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance scheme

Tawang, June 16: The District level workshop on the Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance scheme, organized by the department of Health & Family Welfare was held at Tawang today, which was attended by Panchayat leaders and govt officers.
Attending the awareness programme, Tawang Deputy Commissioner cum DHS Chairman Abhishek Dev suggested the nodal department to take utmost care during the enrolment process so that no eligible families are left out.
Dwelling on the salient features of the scheme, he suggested that the camps for the
registration/enrolment process may be initiated at the various PHCs/CHCs of the Sub-

The main features of the Health Insurance scheme is to provide cashless hospitalization facility upto Rs 2 lakh per family per year through smart cards at empanelled hospitals in Arunachal Pradesh, Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Tezpur, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and Vellore.
The scheme extends free day care procedures in Gynae, eye care, dental procedures, ENT, dialysis, cancer treatment etc. It also assures to provide allowance of Rs 100 per day (upto a maximum of seven days) during hospitalization of head of the insured family. Another important feature is to provide one way transportation to the patient from residence to the hospital within Arunachal Pradesh as per the state transport rates and outside Arunachal Pradesh, railway sleeper class fare only for APST.
DMO Dr Wangdi Lama called upon each and every one to avail the benefits which is a ‘first of its kind’ in the state. He also requested the members present to disseminate information about the scheme to the general public. He further mentioned that Dr. Sang Thinley of the District Hospital has been appointed as the Nodal Officer for successful implementation of the scheme in the district.
Jambey Tsering, ZP chairperson lauded the Chief Minister for his ‘health initiative’ for the benefit of the poor and common man. He also apprised the gathering that to ensure that the benefits reach the common people, the salient features should be explained in depth to the public by holding such workshops at the village level.

Both the extortionist has been booked under section 384 IPC and is currently lodged in jail. Capital police deserves round of applause for arresting the duo. The whispering demand from different corners is being raised against the discriminating regulations which do not allow transfer and posting even on medical and other grounds, and even so only in Papum Pare District of the State.
Why should not the SSA teachers of the district be treated on the same footing as the other teachers as SSA teachers are doing sincere and hard work.
Discriminating regulations will permanently damage the working spirit of the teachers,
and in consequence would adversely affect the teaching-
Further, I would like to appeal the authority concern to revoke the decisions for the greater interest of the teaching community.

Dear Editor,
In recent days there has been criticism regarding the education qualification of Home Minister Tanga Byaling.
So, through Readers’ Forum of your esteemed paper, I would like to write a few lines on literature and wisdom. In a very simple way I can say literature helps in written communication skill and wisdom is understanding wisely, about issues and problems.
In context of Home Department, being backbone of a State, people need a person of right wisdom who is well experienced,so that one could take right decision on different issues and problems because the department is always dealing with law and order of the State which is very sensitive.
And in the case of Arunachal State we need a person who has more experiences and
wisdom because he is to look after multi ethnic tribal state. Byaling have been

Politics demands intelligence and wisdom and also Constitution of India have not made it manatodary to have a certain educational qualification for MLAs and MPs of this great country.
For example Smriti Irani, Union Minister(HRD) who is an under graduate is now looking after thousands of colleges and hundred of Universities of India. Late Giani Zail Singh had little formal education but became Chief Minister of Punjab from 1972 to 1977 and President of India from 1982 to 1987.

We need electricity in Roing
Dear Editor,
The prevailing power crisis in Roing Township establishes the fact that the State Power Department is of opinion that the citizens of the township don’t need electricity and may survive without this basic need. In daytime it is difficult to think about supply of electricity, thus forcing us to have complete shut down of works, to be performed with electricity. During soaring summer heat, one should never expect the pleasure of an electric fan, either due to failure of electricity or, low voltage, which is a common feature here.
If you are running a business establishment related to computer firm, studio or fabrication works, it is better to shut down the shop, or procure a generator at any cost, if you have to earn your livelihood.

With the help of your esteemed daily, I would like to express my gratitude to NHPC for organizing a medical camp recently. Free surgical treatment to poor people not only saves the life of the patient but their respective families too. Such health camps need to be organized time and again not only by NHPC but also by NGOs as well as government across the state &district as it greatly help the poor people.
I would also like to request NHPC authorities to share the schedule, well in advance so that bigger number of villagers could be benefited.
